![]() How I love spring as the colors of the skies and trees transition from gray to beautiful blues, pastel pinks, lavenders, and greens. Although we may have to fight through the pollen for a moment, it still ignites excitement of the beauty that spring brings and the summer to follow. Spring is a time for many artists to de-clutter our minds and try new ideas and techniques to inspire. I know for me, I run through so many ideas that are influenced by themed holidays and events such as Christmas, Frosty the snowman, Valentine's, St. Patrick's, and Mother’s Day, just to name a few. Although these ideas are great and creative, Spring opens doors to truly be inspired by so many other things as well. For one, the arts in nature. A walk in the park or in your own backyard can inspire you and young minds. Motivate your artist to simply draw that flower, that leaf, the dragon fly, humming bird, or the beautiful blue sky! It is a great way to connect and create. Let's not forget you have the best sculpting medium in your yard…dirt! Spring always gets me excited to head to the museum and discover the inspiration behind so many great works of art. Don’t forget to support your local college museum! This is where you will find fresh and pure ideas in the arts. So be inspired and bond with your young artist and enjoy what spring can bring creatively.
